Q: cal light on 2010 jeep liberty is flashing over the dashboard compass how do I turn it off?
A: Follow the procedure below to calibrate the compass. This should be explained in your owners manual. If you do not have one you can download a copy from the Owners section of the Jeep website. The website will also show how to set the correct variation for the compass which will also need to be done.
STANDARD PROCEDURE - COMPASS CALIBRATION AUTOMATIC CALIBRATION
The compass is self calibrating which eliminates the need to manually set the compass. When the vehicle is new, the compass may appear erratic and CAL will be displayed. After completing one 360° turn with the vehicle traveling less than 8 km/h (5 mph) in an area free from large metal or metallic objects, CAL will turn off and the compass will function normally.
Q: How is the Jeep Patriot or Jeep Compass?
I am thinking on purchasing either the 2010 Jeep Patriot or the Jeep Compass. I am not into off roading or nothing like that. Just a simple car that'll get me from Point A to Point B.
The reason for wanting small cars is because I have a gas guzzler and I have no reason to keep it. The reason why I looked at those two is because of MPG ratings (the current one I have is 13/17.)
And the reason why I chose Jeep is because all my friends/family have Hondas, Toyotas, Fords, and Chevys. I want to stay away from that bandwagon and it brought me to Jeeps. What are your thoughts on these two and which one of those two (Patriot or Compass) would you recommend?
Thank you and God Bless!
Reliability is THE MOST important feature I am looking for (forgot to mention that.)
pbleek - So basically you're saying that the Japanese win in reliability??
A: The Patriot and Compass are nothing more than restyled Dodge Calibers. These vehicles can be a good buy for the money but refinement and quality wise they are not up to par with the Japanese or even current domestic Ford and GM offerings.
Here is what one magazine had to say about the Compass / Patriot: A similarly equipped Honda CR-V—a model that thoroughly outpaces the Compass in handling, reliability, cargo room, ride, and cabin quality—costs a mere $1,670 more, and an American-made Ford Escape, which has similar advantages, carries a premium of under $3,000 more. Meanwhile, a Toyota RAV4 that can be outfitted with a third row of seating and comes with that company's bulletproof reliability record runs just over $2,700 more. Any of these is a much better car.
Q: Fuel ratings of the jeep compass and chevy equinox?
My sister has a jeep compass which she is currently leasing, what my concern is she says it gets horrible gas mileage for a small Fuel efficient suv and thought it would be better on gas as she was told . she barley does any driving just a 5 to 8 minute drive from home to work and the odd local store ect which are not far away. I told her about the new 2010 chevrolet equinox but I thinking it might be harder on gas then the jeep or would it be a little lighter then the jeep ? if any one who knows the fuel rating for each vehical please throw me an answer. And if anyone owns a compass and has the same problem please let me know
A: Five to eight miles to work will not even get the engine warmed up, and if the engine is allowed to warm up it sure will ruin the MPG. My Dad does about the same thing to a Subaru and ends up with 15 mpg.
But to the question
Equinox 22/34
Compass 23/28
Q: Which of these cars is the safest, and would you give to your kid as a first car?
Nissan Altima, Nissan Maxima, Nissan Sentra(SE-R), Nissan Versa hatchback, Toyota Camry, Toyota Prius, Honda Accord, or Jeep Compass?(all 2010 or 2009 models)
Thanks!
EDIT: Please rank if possible by safest
A: It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota... First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car - for example here - carquotes.sinfree.net
Q: nervous about giving back car on lease?
I have to give my Jeep Compass lease back in 2010 but it already has a scratch on the side, and a burn mark on the tire rim, don't ask. Plus the oxygen sensor may need replacing. I may go over my mileage due to me changing jobs and having to travel further now. How much could they possibly charge you for the jeep's depreciation when you bring the lease back? Hopefully not over $4000 or anything. If that's the case should I just buyout!? Any experiences, anybody?
A: the scratch and mark on rim shouldn't be a big deal since the car will go through natural abuse so the dealers know all cars that age will have some dings and scratches. they won't charge you for the little booboo. The dealer should change the o2 sensor w/out any problem because all car parts wear out and needs to be change. nothing you did to mess that up so you're cool on that. I would worry about the over mileage since they charge like $0.10-$0.15 per overage and it can add up REALLY quickly so watch that. I would buy the car out if it cheaper than paying for the overages.
Q: What Vehicle should i get?
i want a reliable CUV Crossover OR Suv under 21 THOUSAND
Mitsubishi Outlander
Hyundai Sante Fe
Jeep Patriot
Jeep Compass all 2010 are these good cars tell me about each of them pros and cons and reccomend me some other cars around that price.
more details more info!!!!
A: Maybe a honda crv or honda element (sc if you want it to look a little cooler)
Nissan Rogues are nice. They are packed with features.
If you want Aggressive Styling i would say look at the Dodge nitro
If you want a little bit more luxury you might want to consider looking at the VW tiguan. Its about 23 thousand, but you can really feel the German suspension.
But the most economical CUV/SUV would probably be the toyota rav4. It gets the job done.
